Position the Divisional Identification Patch.


Very quickly after the introduction of the individual Battalion Identification Patch was introduced, a similar system was
introduced to aid in the recognition of troops within a certain Division. The forms used were varied, as were the colours.

The 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers were a part of the '4th Division' BEF (British Expeditionary Force)... formed in France on '31st August 1914'. Below are the '4th Division' emblem (illustrated at left), and the stylised version of that emlem worn on the rear of the SD-Tunic of the 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers (illustrated at right).

The size for the Divisional Identification Patch is:-
Length = 5-inch.
Height = 4-inch.
 
Colour is as illustrated = Red.





Suggested fitting instructions:-
1)-  Align the Divisional Identificaton Patch central on the rear of the tunic, and 2-inch below the tunic collar.
       Pin as required.
2)-  Carry out a final check to make certain that the Divisional Identification Patch is located along the central line of the     
        back, level, and 2-inch below the tunic collar (at all top edge points).
3)-  Sew to secure.
